New Options for Online Booking System
1. Email Confirmations
A new addition has just been put live for the online booking system which allows you to require the user to confirm their booking by clicking a link in their email.
To set this up, go to your online booking members area
Choose 'Configuration Options' and tick the box for requiring confirmations.
* we will allow the time to be changed soon.
So what does this do?
When the user makes a booking, instead of it being processed immediately, they are required to check their email and click a link to confirm their email and that they intend on making the booking.
Their chosen time is reserved for 30 minutes (at the moment) ensuring that nobody else can place a booking for the same time, giving them chance to confirm it / receive their email.
After 30 minutes, the time slot becomes available again, however the user can still confirm and take this slot if its still available after the 30 minutes. This is checked during their confirmation.
Once confirmed, the appointment will then be able to sync with GA3 and be reserved permanently.
If it never gets confirmed, it will be removed from our system automatically, GA3 will never see it, but you will still have received an email stating that it was pending confirmation.
Additionally, If you have set up account clients (via the members area) they will not be required to confirm each booking made if they are logged in.
However, even if a non-account customer is logged in, a confirmation is still required.
What the user will see
We have kept it clean and simple but more importantly un-branded, below are a few screenshots of the confirm bookings pages, depending on the scenario.
(ignore the times and dates - these where taken with no real data in our test system)
2. Restriction of Access
A new addition has been put live for the online booking system allowing you to restrict access to account's you have set up.
If you enable this option, the general public will not be able to use the booking system
Instead of the service / date selection screen it will go directly to a log in screen as shown :
Of course, this means you would have to setup an account in the online booking members area for each customer you wanted to allow access to the system, there is no way for a user to register, since this would defeat the purpose of the restriction...
Both of these additions can be set up via your members area
