Advanced Search Techniques in GA3

When moving through fields with Tab or Enter

  • When using TAB (above caps lock) or Enter to jump through the fields in order
  • You can also press SHIFT and TAB   OR    SHIFT and ENTER to go backwards !

When searching

  • You can use an asterisx * as a wildcard.   i.e entering
  • R*ABC will find R123 ABC aswell as R987 ABC

When using advanced search 

  • If you enter an equals = into one of the fields on its own
  • GA will find all records where this field was left blank.

When using advanced search

  • If you enter an exclamation mark ! on its own into one of the fields such as Order Reference
  • GA will find all documents with duplicate order references used.

Using advanced search, you can combine these methods, for instance..

  • To Find all invoices from a large company account, where the order reference is blank.
  • Under the advanced search screen
  • You would enter part (or all) of the company name
  • and a single equals sign in the order reference field
  • Other Reminder

Using advanced search to search between two dates...

  • Under the advanced search screen
  • You would enter the beginning date followed by '...' and then the finish date
  • You can also combine other options when performing this search
