GA3 can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer

On Mac OSX there is an option to prevent apps from running if they were not obtained from the mac app store, this is usually enabled by default causing messages such as:

"Garage Assistant can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
Garage Assistant is on the disk image "GA3-Standard.dmg" Safari downloaded this disk image on [date] from sws-solutions.co.uk"

To allow installation of Garage Assistant only:

  1. Hold Ctrl and click on the install icon
  2. Choose Open
  3. When the warning appears, choose Open again.

 

To disable this function and allow any app to be installed:

  1. Go to System Preferences
  2. Go to Security & Privacy
  3. Click on the General Tab
  4. Change "Allow apps downloaded from:" to Anywhere.
  5. Install Garage Assistant
