Q. Filemaker cannot share files because another user is already sharing this files using FileMaker Pro on this computer
If when loading either Garage Assistant Client or Server editions you receive the following message : "filemaker cannot share files because another user is already sharing files using filemaker Pro on this computer"
Follow these steps which should rectify the problem
Windows Vista Users
- Click on Start (windows start menu)
- Click on Network
- Click on Network and Sharing Center (along the top)
- Next to your network connections there should be a View Status button.
- Click on View Status
- Click on Properties
- A list will load up with various items
- Locate and untick ' Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6)
- (DO NOT CONFUSE WITH V4 of the same)
- Click Ok
- Restart your PC.
Garage Assistant should now connect over the network correctly.
If this still fails, please download the following file and install it to your Garage Assistant Folder, such as
c:\Garage Assistant V3 Server or
c:\Garage Assistant V3 Client
The download contains 2 files, server.pem and root.pem
If you have re-installed a fresh copy of the network version, these flies can become corrupt.
